Planet Calm Membership Terms & End User License Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Planet Calm (“Planet Calm”, “we”, “us”). They apply when you create an account, buy or are given a membership, or use Planet Calm in any way — the website at planetcalm.app, the Planet Calm app, Leona, BARKType™, the community, events, courses and every other part of it. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or use Planet Calm.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to create an account.

Planet Calm is education, community and support. It is not veterinary, medical, psychological, therapeutic or legal care, and nothing in it replaces a professional who has examined you or your pet.

• Stephanie Frank, Anke Herrmann, the Planet Calm team, coaches, guest experts, other members and Leona (our AI companion) are not your veterinarian, veterinary behaviourist, doctor, nurse, psychologist, psychiatrist, therapist or counsellor, and do not diagnose, treat or prescribe for any animal or person.
• BARKType™ is a personality and communication framework. It is not a diagnostic, clinical or medical tool, and a BARKType result is never a reason to skip or delay professional care.
• Always seek professional guidance for your pet’s health, medical needs, medication, diet changes, pain, sudden behaviour change, aggression or bite risk — and for your own physical and mental health.
• Never start, stop or change a medication or dose for a pet or a person because of anything you read or are told on Planet Calm. Only a vet (for pets) or your own doctor (for you) can do that.
• In an emergency, contact your nearest emergency vet for your pet, or call 911 (or your local emergency number) for a person. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 in the US, or your local crisis line.
• Decisions about your pets, your household and yourself are yours. You use any training, behaviour, wellbeing or relationship suggestion at your own discretion and risk, and you stay responsible for your pet’s welfare and for the safety of the people and animals around it.

• Leona and Leonita are AI. Their answers are generated automatically and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong. Check anything important with a qualified professional before acting on it.
• When you add pet records, notes, photos or documents, Leona uses them to personalise her answers to you. Only add what you are comfortable having processed for that purpose.
• Conversations may be reviewed by the Planet Calm team to keep members safe and to improve the service.
• Usage allowances (for example how many questions or documents each membership includes) are part of each membership and may change as the service develops.

• Give accurate information and keep it up to date. One person per account.
• Keep your password private. You are responsible for what happens under your account; tell us straight away at hello@planetcalm.app if you think someone else has used it.
• You can delete your account and your data at any time in Profile Settings → Delete my data.

• What you get. Each membership includes what is described for it on Planet Calm at the time you join. We keep improving Planet Calm, so features may change, but we will not remove the core of what you paid for during a period you have already paid for.
• Payment. Paid memberships are charged in advance through our payment provider (Stripe). Prices are shown before you pay.
• Automatic renewal. Monthly and yearly memberships renew automatically at the end of each period, at the then-current price, until you cancel. We will tell you before a price change applies to your renewal.
• Cancelling. You can cancel at any time in Profile Settings → Manage billing. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
• Free trials. A free trial gives the access described when you start it, for the length stated. No card is needed for the signup trial and nothing is charged automatically when it ends — you move to the free Community level unless you choose to join.
• One-time memberships. One-time purchases such as the Pioneer membership give the lifetime access described on their offer page for as long as Planet Calm operates that program.
• Refunds. If something has gone wrong with a charge, write to hello@planetcalm.app and we will look at it. Except where the law requires otherwise, refunds are at Planet Calm’s discretion.
• Comped and gifted memberships are a courtesy and can be ended or changed by Planet Calm.

Planet Calm works because it stays calm and kind. You agree not to:

• harass, shame, threaten or discriminate against anyone, or post hateful, violent, sexual or illegal content;
• share other people’s private information, messages or photos without their permission;
• spam, advertise or sell to members without our written permission, or post misleading health claims about pets or people;
• pretend to be someone else, or to speak for Planet Calm.

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

• You own what you post — posts, photos, pet profiles, journal entries and answers.
• You give Planet Calm a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, display and process that content to run Planet Calm for you and the members you share it with, and to show it publicly where you choose to make it public (for example a Pet Map pin or a share card).
• Only post photos and material you have the right to share. We will only use your words or images in our own marketing (for example as a testimonial) with your permission.

• We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Planet Calm website and app, and to view our courses, recordings, BARKType™ materials, books and other content, for your own non-commercial use while your account is in good standing.
• You may not copy, resell, redistribute, publicly share, scrape or record our paid content; reverse-engineer the app; use automated tools to access it; or use our content to build or train a competing product or AI model.
• Planet Calm, BARKType™, Leona and their logos are our trademarks. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.
• If you use the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply, and Apple and Google are not responsible for Planet Calm or its support.

Pins on the Pet Map, and pet profiles you choose to share, are public by design: a pet’s name, photo, type and approximate location (town, not address) can be seen by anyone. You choose what you add and can remove it at any time.

Every member gets their own share links and can earn a commission when someone they send joins or buys. By creating your account you also agree to the Planet Calm Affiliate Terms below — most importantly, whenever you share a Planet Calm link you agree to disclose that you may earn a commission from purchases made through it. Commissions are paid only as described in those terms.

We send emails you need to use your account (password links, receipts, membership changes). Other emails and notifications — community activity, events, tips — can be switched off in Profile Settings or with the link in each email.

We collect the information you give us and information about how you use Planet Calm in order to run, personalise, secure and improve it, and to process payments through our providers. We do not sell your personal information. You can delete your data from Profile Settings → Delete my data, or ask us about it at hello@planetcalm.app.

• Planet Calm is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard to keep it accurate and running, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result — for your pet, your relationships or yourself — will be achieved.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, Planet Calm, its founders, team, coaches and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any decision you make or action you take based on Planet Calm content, Leona or other members.
• To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Planet Calm in the 12 months before the claim.
• You agree to cover Planet Calm’s reasonable costs arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of Planet Calm.
• Nothing here limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.

You can stop using Planet Calm and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts members or animals at risk, or is used fraudulently. Sections 2, 3, 7, 8, 13 and 14 continue after an account ends.

We may update these terms. When a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Planet Calm after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms apply to everyone who shares a Planet Calm affiliate link — members, partners and anyone who signs up through the Partner Program. They exist so that the people you share with always know when you may be paid for a recommendation, which is what the U.S. Federal Trade Commission requires and what we expect of anyone speaking for Planet Calm.

1. Who you are to us

You are an independent affiliate. You are not an employee, agent or representative of Planet Calm, and you may not make promises or statements on Planet Calm's behalf beyond what Planet Calm itself publishes.

2. Always disclose that you may earn a commission

Every post, message, story, video, email, podcast mention or comment that carries your link must clearly say that you may earn a commission. The disclosure must be:

• Clear and in plain words — for example “I earn a commission if you join through my link”, “Paid partnership” or “#ad”. Vague tags such as “#sp”, “#collab” or “#affiliate” on their own are not enough.
• Close to the link and hard to miss — in the post or message itself, not only in your bio, profile, an “about” page or a pile of hashtags, and visible on a phone without tapping “more”.
• Said out loud in audio and video — and shown on screen long enough to read, not only written in a description.
• Repeated every time — each post or message needs its own disclosure, even if you disclosed before.

Use any platform tool for paid partnerships as well, but do not rely on it alone.

3. Honest, first-hand recommendations only

• Only recommend Planet Calm based on your own honest opinion and real experience. Do not say you use or have used something you have not.
• Do not make health, medical, veterinary or behavioural-outcome claims about pets that Planet Calm itself does not make, and never suggest that Planet Calm, Stephanie or Anke has examined, treated or diagnosed a pet, or that they replace a veterinarian.
• Do not write, buy, sell or post fake reviews or testimonials, review something you were paid to review without saying so, or ask friends or family to post reviews for you.

4. How and where you share

• No spam. Follow the CAN-SPAM Act and the rules of every platform you use. Only email or message people who know you or have asked to hear from you, and honour every request to stop.
• Do not bid on “Planet Calm”, “BARKType”, “Leona” or similar names in paid search or social ads, or run ads that look like they come from Planet Calm, without our written permission.
• Do not use your own link to buy for yourself or your household (self-referral). Those purchases do not earn commission.
• Do not present your link as an official Planet Calm page or use Planet Calm's logo in a way that suggests you are Planet Calm.

5. Commissions

• Current program rates: 15% on memberships and services, 15% on store products and 50% on digital products, unless a different personal rate has been agreed with you in writing. Your current rate is always shown in your Affiliate Hub.
• Commission is earned on completed sales that are not refunded or charged back, made through your link within the 365-day cookie window. Comped and gifted memberships do not earn commission.
• Commissions are reviewed, approved and paid out in batches (normally by PayPal). Planet Calm may withhold or reverse commission on sales that break these terms, are fraudulent, or are refunded.
• A completed Form W-9 is required before we can pay you. If we pay you $2,000 or more in a calendar year we will send you, and file, a Form 1099-NEC. You are responsible for your own taxes.

6. Our part

Planet Calm may review what you post with your link, ask you to change or remove it, pause your links, withhold commission on non-compliant referrals, or end this arrangement at any time. You may stop sharing at any time.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When a change is material we will ask you to accept the new version before you share another link. Commission already earned under an earlier version stays earned.
